Deputy Chief Kim Lawson
is a 28-year veteran of the Nashville Fire Department. She
currently heads the Community Services Bureau. This area of the
department includes Fire Prevention, Community Risk Reduction
and Public Education, Public Relations, Special Events, and
Public Information. Lawson Holds a B.S. in Public Safety
Administration and is a certified Paramedic, Public Life Safety
Educator and CPR Instructor. |

A.C. Kathy Whisenant is
a 21 year veteran with the Nashville Fire Department. She has an
Associates Degree of Science and is currently seeking her
Bachelors Degree in Political Science with an Emphasis in
Pre-Law at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a certified
CPR, First Aid and AED Instructor, Confined Space Rescue
Instructor and Hazardous Materials Instructor. |

D.C. Charles Shannon is
a 28 year veteran of the Nashville Fire Department. He is a
certified EMT, certified Public Safety Educator and certified in
BTLS. He is a Public Information Officer and
his responsibilities include Public Education, Public Relations,
Recruiting with an emphasis on minorities, Chapency Program and
he is a Senior Staff Advisor. |

D.C. Manuel Fonseca is a
22 year veteran with the Nashville Fire Department. He has a
Ed.D in Education Administration from Tennessee State
University. He is a certified Fire Officer I & II, Fire
Instructor I & II, Public Safety Educator, certified Educator in
Learn Not To Burn Program and Remembering When. |

Captain Maggie Lawrence
is a 22 year veteran with the Nashville Fire Department. She has
an Associates Degree in Fire Science and a Bachelors Degree of
Science from Tennessee State University. She is a certified Fire
Inspector, Fire Investigator and a Fire & Explosion Instructor.
She is currently furthering her education as a certified Public
Educator. |

Fire Inspector Richard
Dutton is a 33 year veteran of the Nashville Fire department. He
is an NFPA Certified Fire Inspector I, TN Certified Public Fire
and Life Safety Educator, as well as a Certified Public Fire and
Life Safety Educator from Oklahoma State University and NFPA. |

Inspector Joe Cooper is
a 22-year veteran of Nashville Metropolitan Government. He
currently services in the Community Services Bureau as an
Inspector-Public Educator. Joe has been certified as a Fire
Inspector and a Public Educator through the state of Tennessee.
He attended Wingate College and Tennessee Technological College.
He has a back ground in law enforcement and Fire fighting dating
back to 1977. |

A.J. Furnish has been
with the Nashville Fire Department since August 2006. She
received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, with a
minor in English, from the University of South Florida. She is a
career educator with 15 years experience teaching grades K-8 in
Tampa, Atlanta, and Nashville. She is a certified Public Safety
Educator, CPR Instructor, and teaches the Learn Not to Burn
early childhood program. She also teaches the Remembering When
program for senior adults and their caregivers. |

Kimberly Wilkins has
been with the Nashville Fire Department since January 2006.
Prior to working with the Nashville Fire department she taught
in the Metro Nashville Public School System for ten years as a
Special Education Teacher. Kimberly received her B.S. Degree in
Special Education, with a minor in Speech Pathology and
Audiology from Tennessee State University. Kimberly is a highly
certified educator with the school system, certified public
safety educator in the Learn Not to Burn and Remembering When
programs, as well as a certified CPR, First Aid and AED
instructor. She is also fluent in American Sign Language
(A.S.L.). |

Amy Hart has been with
the Nashville Fire Department for 2 years. She graduated from
the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelors
Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Elementary
Education. She is certified in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
She taught Kindergarten in the Metro Nashville Public School
System for 5 years. Amy is a certified public safety educator,
and teaches The Learn Not to Burn Program for Metro school
teachers and throughout Nashville for daycare directors and
preschool teachers. |
