  Fire Prevention Permit Notice

 
Special Events Permits for events that require a Fire Inspector acting as a safety officer have a charge of $50.00 per estimated hour of the event.

Example:

 

A Special Event that would require a Safety Officer would be any tent that has cooking under the same tent that the people will be assembled under. Any event that occurs on public property where the Fire Marshal is needed to assure that exits form existing buildings are not being compromised.  Any special event that is deemed necessary to have a Safety Officer by the Metropolitan Nashville Fire Marshal. When you apply for the permit you will need to give us the estimated time of the event. We will charge for 30 minutes prior to the event until the close of the event.  If the event runs longer than the stated time you will be billed for the remainder of the fee.

This letter is to notify you that it is your responsibility to make sure your application and fee are sent into our office on time and has been received in the appropriate time allotted for the type of permit requesting.

 

Please see below:

 

Pyro Applications:  The State Fire Marshal’s Office requires application 10 days prior to the event.  Applications must be in the Nashville Fire Marshal’s Office 3 working days prior along with payment of fees.   Make check payable to the Nashville Fire Department.  It is also your responsibility to get your state application once signed from our office to the Chief of Police and from there to the State Fire Marshal’s Office in the allotted time.

 

Tent Applications:  Tent applications should be sent to Metro Codes and followed up to make sure they have received it.  Then the Nashville Fire Marshal’s Office needs to receive payment 3 working days prior to the event.  All applications must be paid by 3:00 pm  3 working days before eventOn the application we need to know the time the tent will be up and ready for inspection  If we come out to inspect at the designated time and the tent is not ready another will need to be established and an additional $25.00 fee will be charged.  If a tent is erected without a permit application and fee paid a triple fee ($75.00) will be assessed.

LPG & Propane Applications:  LPG applications must be in the Nashville Fire Marshal’s Office 3 working days prior to the event along with payment of fee.  Your applications must have the time you will be set up and ready for inspection.  All applications must be in no later than 3:00 pm 3 working days prior to the event.  If we come out to inspect and you are not ready and we have to set up for another inspection you will be billed an additional $25.00.

 

Special Event Fire Watch:  All applications must be in the Nashville Fire Marshal’s Office 3 working days prior to the event along with payment of fee.  If an event runs over the allotted time then you will be billed for the difference in time.  All applications must be in no later than 3:00 pm 3 working days prior to the event.
