The
Hydrant Services Section is in charge of scheduling yearly
hydrant inspections and is the liaison between the Nashville
Fire Department and the seven water utility companies in the
city. There are over 21,000 fire hydrants in the city of
Nashville that are inspected by firefighters to insure they are
operational at time of need. We keep these records on hydrants
to inform personnel when hydrants are in or out of service. Maps
are provided to each fire hall with the hydrants displayed in
their zones. If you need information on water flow pressure,
maintenance, or records on hydrants, you should contact your
water utility company as they own their respective hydrants. No
repairs are performed by the Fire Department. Numbers for the
