  Hydrant Services

Randy Cane, Lt.

The Hydrant Services Section is in charge of scheduling yearly hydrant inspections and is the liaison between the Nashville Fire Department and the seven water utility companies in the city. There are over 21,000 fire hydrants in the city of Nashville that are inspected by firefighters to insure they are operational at time of need. We keep these records on hydrants to inform personnel when hydrants are in or out of service. Maps are provided to each fire hall with the hydrants displayed in their zones. If you need information on water flow pressure, maintenance, or records on hydrants, you should contact your water utility company as they own their respective hydrants. No repairs are performed by the Fire Department. Numbers for the water utilities are listed below.
